It's such an ultra frustrating issue because there really isn't much you can do within the app or with any of the devices to troubleshoot.Repairing your Vivint door lock is a simple task that requires some basic precautions to ensure its successful completion. I think it started after I reset the lock when I moved in and changed the passcode and made it "mine". I reached out to the old owner, she wasn't a ton of help but I asked her if she had to change the batteries that frequently and she said "hmm, no that doesn't seem right" (better than no information I suppose) so my suspicion is that it is a wifi - software issue rather a physical one. Oh yeah! I should also mention, I inherited this lock when I bought my house. I'm going to order some new nest connects and try that first as it's a cheaper troubleshooting option first and see where that gets me. I have recently thought the problem could be the Nest connect as it's supposed to serve as the "brain" and feed the lock it's wifi. I readded it to the Nest app, pulled my other nest connect out of the box and set that up halfway between the router and the other nest connect and the door to see if maybe it just needed a bit of a daisy chain in a way to help it along and held my breath for 30 days. Last month I completely factory reset the lock, pulled it out of the door, inspected it, reconnected the wires, scrutinized the instruction manual again, reinstalled it, I made sure everything was absolutely perfect and reinstalled it.
